I hope your summer is going well! As July and my internship soon comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on my time here at the museum. I feel quite privileged to be able to learn so much about the history of my family and hometown; gaining such knowledge really enriches my appreciation for Chebeague, my ancestors and the life that I am able to have. I’ve also learned life skills, such as how a non-profit organization runs and customer service skills, so I’m truly grateful for my time here.
On another note, it’s Christmas in July here at CIHS! Everything in the gift shop is 10% off this week (the sale began yesterday, Monday, July 27th, and will last through Saturday, August 1st), so stock up this week while you can save a few bucks!
Last week was our annual fundraising event, which was a Pied Piper Cruise to Peaks Island and the 5th Maine Museum. Although there were rumors of rain the day of the cruise, I heard only great things about the event! I also heard there were some photos taken, so hopefully I can get a hold of a few to post on the blog. Sincere thank you to all who attended, as your support for our organization is what helps us uphold our mission to preserve and share Chebeague’s history with its residents and visitors.
Hope to see you at the museum soon!
